SmolVM first probe
October 17, 2026
My OpenCode fork explores native agent tracing and swappable VM experiments. An early synthetic SmolVM probe on one M4 Pro measured a 0.231 s live branch and 0.325 s to package a 41 MiB checkpoint, including a 0.102 s source pause—not resume latency. The 13.27 s first run included the image pull. File markers and a failed DNS lookup don’t establish memory restoration or comprehensive isolation. This is groundwork, not a finished cyber range or RL dataset; native SmolVM-backed OpenCode execution isn’t wired up yet.
